The stock of Logitech International (NASDAQ:LOGI) closed at $35.60 losing 1.58% in yesterday’s trading session. This company has provided an explanation behind what was happening to the wide array of the Harmony Link devices. It has also  moved ahead to say that it will be offering free of charge replacements.

The company addressed an email to the Owners of the product warning them that the link would reach its expiry in May. A lot of the interested parties have been posing questions regarding the expiry of the certificate next March. The company has been quick in its response saying that the certificate won’t be renewed. It is currently directing its resources on its current app-based remote and that is according to the company’s spokesperson.

An official working with the company opined, “There is a technology certificate license that will expire next March. The certificate will not be renewed as we are focusing resources on our current app-based remote, the Harmony Hub.”

Logitech has promised all the Harmony Link users that it will be reaching out to them between now and March 2018.It will be seeking to make arrangements that will enable it to make replacement of the users’ links with the free Harmony Hubs.

This product bears similar app-based remote control features and that augurs pretty well with the added benefit of controlling a wide range of the popular connected home devices. That is in addition to most of the popular voice assistants.

The spokesperson in a recent interview said that as a company they understood that their services meant quite much to the customers. He agreed to the fact that the expiring certificate had much to do with security. According to him, it would have been irresponsible for the company to move forward and act irresponsibly. Most of the people to this point understand the future potential vulnerability associated with the service.

The public outrage had reached a point where it had become quite much for the company to handle. However, its move to offer free replacements has been received in a good way by all users.
