The stock of Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE) closed at $35.79 losing 0.45% in yesterday’s trading session. It was at the Hudson Yards tower that Pfizer Inc inked a large lease deal with developer Tishman Speyer. The securing of the financing is the first step in undertaking the $3.7 billion project and an official working with the company said the future was looking bright for them.
Pfizer Inc is quite pleased for having signed a 20-year lease that will see it secure 15 floors at the Spiral which happens to be a story skyscraper. A person familiar with the matter has moved ahead to disclose that the tenant is at the moment making plans to move its headquarters from 219 and 235 East 42nd Street.
The final destination would be the Hudson Yards District building and reports indicate that it will be sitting on about 15 floors. It has also been disclosed that Pfizer will also be occupying sections of the ground and mezzanine levels in a deal that will be spanning a period of almost 20 years.
A lot of people have been posing questions wanting to know the exact figure of the asking rent. An official working with the company has been quick to answer the question outlining that they can’t disclose that for now but would with time announce it. Also, It is also worth noting that Pfizer might soon be selling some two buildings it is occupying at the moment and the funds obtained thereof will be channeled towards funding the new projects by the business giant.
Tishman Speyer president and CEO Rob Speyer after attending a business conference that was held recently came across several journalists who interviewed him on the latest developments regarding the company.
The official disclosed that the company was quite pleased to welcome Pfizer as the anchor tenant in The Spiral, which is associated with an iconic design, great views and above all the abundant access to what a lot of people require in terms of the amenity spaces.
If all moves according to plan, it is expected that somewhere around June the construction will have started.
